150 schools subscribing

With a new cluster in Bath and North East Somerset recently subscribing we have reached the milestone of 150 schools using the programme nationwide. With further dissemination in Milton Keynes on 1 July and further interest in Wiltshire we are sure the number of schools benefiting and contributing will continue to grow.

New Clusters

Two new clusters of schools in Durham and Oxford will be accessing the Languages Bridge following Training Days in June and July.

Language Makers

From September the Languages Bridge will form part of a new integrated programme of curriculum support provided by the International Learning and Research Centre, called Language Makers. Click on the link in Support for more information. Also new will be the opportunity for existing subscribers to organise Booster Days to train new staff or better integrate the materials to their curriculum.

European Application

We have just submitted an application to the European Union to work with 5 European partners to transfer the innovative teaching methodology of the Languages Bridge to vocational education.

New Clusters

Three new groups of schools in Milton Keynes, Plymouth and Devizes will be accessing the Languages Bridge following Training Days in January, March and April, bringing the total number of schools to over 130.

Dissemination of the Languages Bridge

Trevor Davies will be presenting the Languages Bridge programme at LSGs at the Bournemouth Learning Centre on the 21 January and in County Durham at the DLC, Spennymoor on 10 February. See http://www.primarylanguages.org.uk/ professional_development/local_ support_groups for details.
