Languages in the Primary Curriculum
Michael Gove's announcement about the place of languages in the new primary curriculum is welcome. Schools using the Languages Bridge will already be addressing the proposed emphasis on grammar and sentence structure.
Training Day in Somerset
There will be a training day in July for a cluster of schools in Poole.
Curriculum Review
The National Curriculum expert review panel in January recommended the study of languages in Years 5 and 6. More details at http://www.education.gov.uk/schools/teachingandlearning/ curriculum/nationalcurriculum/a0075667/national-curriculum-review-update. Provision through use of the Languages Bridge would fulfil this.
